Tribal Youth Program (TYP) Grant Update

The Organized Village of Kake is excited to bring back the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Tribal Youth Program (TYP) grant for the first time in several years. This grant is designed to provide positive opportunities that support the success, well-being, and future of our youth.

We are kicking off the program with our Youth Basketball Camp, August 3–5, and look forward to offering after-school tutoring, hands-on STEM activities including robotics and 3D printing, a community service program, and cultural activities such as carving, weaving, beading, drawing, painting, and sewing throughout the school year.

We are excited to provide meaningful opportunities that promote leadership, learning, cultural connection, and healthy lifestyles while creating a safe and supportive environment for the youth of Kake.
