Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Program Update

The Organized Village of Kake Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Program continues to provide advocacy, support, and prevention services to our community. Over the past several months, we have focused on raising awareness through Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) events, Sexual Assault Awareness Monthactivities, community outreach, and culturally grounded wellness classes for women that promote healing, connection, and resilience.

We have also continued strengthening partnerships by collaborating with local organizations, Tribal leadership, and the school to improve access to resources and support for individuals and families.

We are excited to welcome two new Domestic Violence Advocates to our team! Please join us in welcoming Yvonne Peterson and Donna Demmert. We are thrilled to have them on board and look forward to the knowledge, compassion, and support they will bring to our program and community.

Sexual Assault Response Training
October 13–14, 2026

In partnership with the Alaska Native Women’s Resource Center (AKNWRC), we will be hosting a two-day Sexual Assault Response Training focused on strengthening our community’s response through education, collaboration, and trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices.
